How to Prevent a Wasp Infestation

15th May 2019

Anyone that has ever been stung by a wasp will immediately appreciate the pain and upset it can cause. Here’s a few tips to reduce the risk of being stung.

The most important prevention is to remove food sources and block nesting sites. The following steps may help.

Firstly, make sure that you regularly remove any rubbish from your home. Wasps are attracted to a food source.

Always keep food waste in bins, this practice should be followed whether inside or outside of the home.

If wasps can get into your outside bins try wrapping food waste in cling film, it may help.

Check your home for small holes especially if there is any going into the attic space as this is their preferred nest site.

When you are having a barbecue be wary of wasps. By leaving food outdoors you are inviting wasps to your environment.

An infestation of wasps is something to be treated with caution. It is always advised to contact an experienced pest control business.
